When I ask kids why they are interested in coding, almost always the answer is get is 'I want to make games'. I think this is a great answer - these kids want to create instead of just playing.

When kids make games, they learn coding, design, and arts. They also learn perseverance, as they quickly realise that making games is a lot of work, but often they keep at it because the joy of creation is worthwhile.

In this theme, my 2018 Spread the Code project is 'One Week, One Game.' I will be creating and publishing one simple game every week, using the same apps we use to teach coding. All the code will be available so you can peek in and figure out how the game is made.
